Hubelino GmbH Guidelines for the Protection of Personal Rights
Hubelino GmbH (hereafter: Hubelino) has developed guidelines for the protection of personal rights that effect the acquisition, use and passing on of personal data collected at the point of contact with Hubelino – for example when you use our website, purchase products or services from Hubelino or call our sales partners or customer services. Please take a minute to read the following document that informs you about how we handle your personal data, what type of data we collect, how and for what purposes these data are used, to whom we might pass the data on, and how we protect your personal data. Your personal rights are given the highest priority at Hubelino and we do our utmost to protect them.

Why do we collect personal data?
Hubelino collects personal data in order to provide you with an exemplary customer service, to ensure easy access to our products and services and to provide an optimal range of services. Furthermore, your personal data help us keep you informed about the latest product releases, special offers and other developments that we think might be of interest to you.

Which data are collected and how are they used?
There are a number of situations in which your personal data can help us to offer you better products. For example, you might be asked to provide personal details when you are discussing a service problem on the telephone with one of our partners, when you take part in an online survey, register your product or purchase a new product. When you get in contact with Hubelino, we only ask for information that is relevant for the specific situation. This includes, for example, name, postal address, telephone number, e-mail address and preferred method of contact, credit card details, data regarding previously purchased Hubelino products such as serial number and date of purchase. In addition, we collect information for market research purposes in order to get to know you better and be able to offer you a more effective service. We collect data about customer activities on our website in the Hubelino shop. On the basis of such data we can find out which information is really useful for you and which areas of our website, product and internet services interest you.

We are entitled to use personal data in order to make requested products available and to carry out testing, research and analysis in order to improve our products.

Your Hubelino ID and corresponding information
To save time and to enable you to use our web services more efficiently, you can create a so-called “Hubelino ID” on the Hubelino website and in the Hubelino shop based on your personal information. And this is how it works: you create a personal profile with your name, telephone number, e-mail address (and in some cases your postal address or credit card number) and then, for security reasons, specify a password and a hint regarding your password (e.g. your date of birth). The system saves this information and assigns a personal Hubelino ID, which is in most cases simply your e-mail address, as this is obvious and easy to remember. The next time you place an order in the Hubelino shop, all you need to do is enter your Hubelino ID and password and the system will automatically search for the required data. When you update the data of your Hubelino ID, this will become available for all transactions worldwide.

When do we pass on your personal data?
Hubelino takes the protection of your personal rights extremely seriously. We neither sell nor loan your personal information to other providers.

Within the Hubelino company
In order to provide you with exemplary service, we may pass on your personal data to legal entities within the Hubelino company worldwide, who undertake the necessary steps to reconcile these data with the Hubelino guidelines for the protection of personal rights.

With our service providers, suppliers and strategic partners
On occasion, it can be advantageous for Hubelino to pass on your data to companies with whom Hubelino has a strategic partnership or who work for Hubelino and supply products and services in our name. Such companies can help us process information, deliver products to you, administer customer data, provide customer service, evaluate your interest in our products and services, conduct market research or carry out customer satisfaction surveys. These companies are also obliged to protect your data in line with Hubelino’s personal rights protection guidelines, as long as they do not receive instructions to the contrary at the point of data collection. Without the possibility to pass on certain information, many aspects would be a lot more difficult, such as ordering and delivery of products, provision of customer services, the passing on of feedback information in order to improve our products and services as well as access to certain services, offers and content on the Hubelino website.

Occasionally, we might be legally obliged to release your personal data. In addition, we reserve the right to release information about your person if we are convinced that this serves the interests of national security, law enforcement or other public matters.

How do we protect your personal data?
Hubelino takes security measures, including administrative, electronic and physical procedures to protect your data from loss, theft, misuse as well as from unauthorised access, transfer, modification and destruction.

The Hubelino online shop uses the industry standard encryption methods SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) on all websites containing personal information. If you would like to make a purchase in the Hubelino online shop, you must own browser, such as Safari, Netscape Navigator 3.0 (or more recent) or Internet Explorer, that supports SSL. This ensures the confidentiality of your personal information and credit card details during transactions via the internet.

You can also help ensure the protection of your data on the internet by adhering to certain security measures. Change your password regularly. Use a combination of letters and numbers and make sure to use a secure web browser.

Hubelino has taken security measures in order to ensure that your personal data are always correct, complete and up-to-date. Naturally, you have the right to access and change your own data at any time. You can help us to make sure that your contact information and settings are correct, complete and up-to-date. Cookies and other technology
As with many other company websites, the Hubelino website uses co-called “cookies” and other technology to find out which areas of the website are particularly popular, how our customers move through the website and how much time they spend in each particular area. In addition, we use cookies and other technology to ensure that our online advertising is effective and that our customers’ attention is indeed drawn to our products and services. We use cookies and other technology to analyse the data traffic on our website, in order for us to improve the design and functionality and to examine the efficiency of communication with our customers. As with most other websites, certain information is collected automatically and saved in logfiles. This includes IP addresses, browser type, internet service provider, reference and end pages, operating system, date and time stamps and clickstream data.

Hubelino uses this information, which does not allow any inference to individuals, to analyse trends, administer the website, trace user activity during navigation of the website and to collect demographic data.

In some of our e-mail announcements we use a so-called “click-through URL”, which is linked to the content of the Hubelino website. When you click such a URL address, you pass through our web server before you actually reach the target website. We trace these click-through data to assess the interest in particular subjects and to measure the efficiency of communication with you.

If you would like to prevent the collection of these data, just avoid clicking any text or graphics links in e-mails.

In addition, we use so-called “pixel tags” (tiny picture files) that provide information on the areas you have visited on our website, or measure how effective the search was on our website.

By using pixel tags, we can also send you e-mail announcements in a format readable for you. Additionally, we can examine whether e-mails have been opened in order to ensure that we only send those announcements that actually interest you. We may use this information to reduce the number of e-mails sent to you or to discontinue them. All such data are stored in a secure database in a computer centre in Berlin.
